Always Reaching and Moving Forward - Dr. Tofy Mussivand

Taking photographs for a living is of course pretty cool - but helping organizations tell their story is such an honor and privilege. I always tell people the best part of what I get to do, is to meet men and woman who really make a difference. My favorite people to photograph are research scientists, they are the men and woman who are reaching and moving innovation forward. They're so creative, passionate and very entrepreneurial. This week I got to meet and photograph Dr. Tofy Mussivand, the Chair and Director of the Cardiovascular Devices Program at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He was a humble passionate man who's been moving cardiac device research including artificial hearts, forward for the past 25 years. I love something he told us, "embracing error and set backs is a necessary part of successful scientific research". Such wise words, learning and moving forward, truly is so much about embracing our mistakes. #HumbleWisdom
