Photographing Family History

I delivered some proofs today to some family portrait clients and I was reminded later while talking to my best friend, what an important honor and responsibility it is to photograph such a project. It's much more than a job really - in a way, it's helping a family record part of their history. Photographing a portrait for a family might just be the most important work a photographer can do - giving a family something they can treasure always. What could possibly be more important than that? :)
